4 Locations For Your Showers/Events | Lagos

Updated: May 8, 2020

Finding The Perfect Location For Your Events Can Be A Chore But We’re Here To Help You.

Recently, we’ve gotten a lot of questions on where private parties or bridal/baby showers can be held in Lagos. While the cost is important, another focal point for most people is that it’s an instagrammable location aka picture perfect (for the non Instagram literates out there).

Before choosing your venue, it’s important to ask yourself a few questions starting with what your budget is. Will everyone be contributing money or going dutch? Would you prefer a set menu or just order right of the main menu? (another option would be that you rather pay a corkage fee to bring in your food), decor or use the venue as it is etc

We’ve had the opportunity to plan a Christmas party (with Naija Nomads) & a baby shower in the last two months and what we really wanted was a cost effective place that looked nice but would still allow us decorate if we wanted to.

Our locations for both worked out pretty well and could be options for you to choose from for whatever you may be planning. We’ll also list other locations you can look into and our thoughts on them.

7 Caroline Atounah Street, Lekki Phase 1

We hosted a joint Christmas party here with Naija Nomads for our unravellers and nomads.

This was a last minute choice for us but we’re happy it all came together. Cafe Jade didn’t need a lot of decor but we still decided to do a few things.

We were given the area upstairs for our party and the cost was inclusive of feeding and  bottomless drinks (after a bit of persuasion..lol). In our opinion it was a pretty fair deal considering there were various food options.

We were also allowed to bring our own deserts (cakes/cupcakes, cake pops, cookies etc) and we also handled music ourselves.

Our guests loved it and  we think we definitely made a great choice with this location.

They allowed us play games and just do what we wanted as long as we didn’t disturb the other guests. We all had fun and enjoyed the ambiance and will always get a recommendation from us (till they mess up….lol).

There isn’t a lot of parking available so maybe uber?

Address – 58a Isaac John St, Ikeja GRA, Ikeja

We (Naija Nomads, Travel With A Pen) had our friend’s baby shower here and it turned out nicely. We used the outer seating area and they allowed us decorate with our balloons and props.

What really made it pop was the greenery and potted plants the restaurant uses to up its ambiance.

They didn’t charge us for the space. We simply paid for the meals we ate.

We were able to take our cake in too but we couldn’t eat it there. This kind of made sense since they have a pastry section.

They also gave us their speakers so we could have music outside. And while they had a few guests there, we were left tour own devices. The service was a bit slow and it was quite disappointing that they ran out of chicken wings BUT all is well that ends well.

We would recommend using the outside area for whatever you may be having because inside is TINY.

They have another branch on the Island (Ikoyi) and we’re willing to bet it’s just as nice as it’s Ikeja branch.

As the restaurant shares a compound with other establishments, parking can be a hassle.

6A, Ogbunike Close, Off Wole Olateju Crescent, Lekki

We’ve have been to the tea room but it wasn’t for an event. We can tell you for a fact that it’s very picturesque. Flowers everywhere, a phone booth, coffee books, tea pots and much more just makes it so beautiful.

We went there for dinner on boxing day and they had a set menu. This could be why our meals came out on time, but who knows. The waiters were also very friendly and attentive.

However after going, we started hearing numerous stories on waiting times, staff attitude and just a general displeasure with their service which made us wonder if our visit was just a fluke.

The food was decent and the drinks were yummy. However we hear they charge a grip for bridal showers (20k upwards per person) so if money is not your problem then you can use them .

22 Musa Yar’Adua Stree, Victoria Island

Never been here but every picture we’ve come across shows that it’s a beautiful space. All sorts seem to be held here. From birthdays to small meetings; La Brioche’s flower drop is what brings this minimal, small space to life.

While it it is touted a brunch place, you can find a burger on two on the menu so do let that chase you away.

Rumor also has it that the prices are affordable so why not give it a shot.

And there you have it, our 4 picks for your events, do you agree or disagree?

Have you been to any of these places and what other locations would you add to the list?
