Over the weekend, we had our tour to Erin-Ijesha Waterfalls in Osun State and I’m happy to say it went very well
I have written on Erin-Ijesha (click here), so this post is just to show off pictures of what we got up to. Hopefully this makes you jealous and you join us on our next trip :). This time we were able to climb to the 5th level of the waterfall and also play under it. The climb was difficult and strenuous but at the end of the day it was worth it.
Despite the rain, everyone got there as close to time as possible and at about 7.45am we were off to Osun State.
We had breakfast, introduced ourselves and played games which made everyone loosen up. Before long we were all friends with each other trading jokes and stories. Everything was discussed, from politics to the state of education in the country. It was a fun trip and sleep was far away from everyone’s mind.
4 hours later, we were at the waterfalls and after paying and getting our tour guide, we were welcomed by the local drummers.
This trip was special to me because it looked like we were going to have to cancel or move it but the fact that it turned out so great makes it amazing.
Climbing to the many levels of the waterfalls requires some serious stamina and will power. We almost gave up but the will to continue kept driving us. Our guide told us if we managed to get to the third level, we tried. We made it to the 5th level so that was brilliant. We were told that making it to the 7th level would take over an hour and the route to the 6th level wasn’t too great. At this point we decided to take a bow and head back to the second level where we could join others frolicking under the falls.
It was such a wonderful experience standing in the waterfall and just having the waters rush over us.
I just want to say thanks to everyone who came for this trip. It was awesome and it’s pretty interesting how we left feeling like we had known each all our lives.

Numbers were exchanged and people realised their businesses collided with others. It still costs N500 ($2.51) to get gain access to the waterfall and N500 for pictures. For a tour guide, all you need to do is haggle the price and you’re good to go.
