Searching for a good hotel while on a trip can be very daunting and this was the case during my trip to Ondo State. After a bit of inquiry, The Chancery Hotel in Owo, Ondo State was recommended by Naija Nomads. It is a quaint, medium sized hotel that is touted as one of the best hotels in the area.
After a long day on the road travelling down, our room at The Chancery was a welcome sight for Fola and I.
Our room was the standard room and on sight, we commented about how small the room and bed was. However, we got used to it and were just happy we had a place to sleep.
The bed was comfortable, the generator was put on anytime there was a power failure and the amenities suited our needs. We couldn’t complain.
Tiny people deserve tiny beds
Although we didn’t eat at the hotel, they have an in house restaurant on the first floor (called ‘Morenike’) and you can order room service if you don’t want to get out of bed. My only issue with room service was that they took forever to get me a drink and toothpicks.
At some point, I had to head to the restaurant myself to get what I had asked for.
The hotel also has a gym, a swimming pool and a conference room. We didn’t do a lot of walking around as we were only in the hotel when it was time to get some sleep. The staff were also polite and even indulged us by helping with our picture taking. With rooms that start from N12,000 it wasn’t a bad place to spend 2 nights.
