After go karting at The Get Arena, my brother and I headed to Double 4 to grab a bite to eat. I’ve been there a couple of times and I usually get the pasta, but I decided to change things up this time. Big mistake!
Double 4 is one of those restaurants that have been in Lagos for a long time, I remember ordering their pizza as a kid. Some people like to describe it as a place to go to when you want to eat food that warms your heart and reminds you of your mothers cooking. Do I agree? Not necessarily, but I suppose it depends on what you order.
I got the chicken escalope and that came with mashed potatoes, while my brother went with the burger and some chicken wings. Our drink of choice included a bottle of coke and a Blue Hawaiian.
I’m not sure exactly what went wrong, but let just say I should have gotten my usual pasta. The escalopes were not what I was expecting. To be honest I struggled alot with it and just gave up eating it after a while. The mashed potatoes were decent and I just filled up on that. My brother on the other enjoyed his burger and the chicken was pretty good.
Double 4 serves a variety of food, from pizzas to seafood, but Lord the escalopes did not hit the spot. Bad day maybe? If you go there, try something else.
I do like the restaurant itself, its cosy and the staff are polite. If you prefer to sit outside and people watch, you can do just that as there’s room for it. Sitting down at the bar is also another option if you don’t want a huge table all to yourself.
It’s great for hanging out with friends and if you want to catch the game while you’re at it, it’s the perfect spot.
