Restaurant of The Week | Grills In And Out

Grills in and out is a restaurant located in Lekki Phase 1 in Lagos and Ademola Adetokunbo Street in Abuja, that offers three types of grills. A Mongolian Grill, Naija Grill and ‘self grill’ ( I hear that doesn’t work anymore). They are also big on cocktails as the owner is said to be a certified mixologist.

We decided to seat outside mostly because I have a thing for swinging seats, it was a hot day and I could connect my iPod to their speakers and play my own music (this made me really happy).

The layout of the restaurant is pretty basic and simple although I didn’t go upstairs where the self grill station is located.

Our order consisted of

Water

Strawberry daiquiri (fun cup)

Jumbo Mongolian bowl

Chicken wings

For the Mongolian bowl, you choose what goes in it. From the rice (white rice, fried rice etc) right down to the seasoning. The concept of the restaurant is to build your own meal and for the more  adventurous ones, you go upstairs and grill your ‘meats’ yourself. *I hear people aren’t allowed to do this anymore.

After picking out what you want in your meal, the chefs whip it up and bring it over to you. Thankfully the wait wasn’t too long and I thought my meal was really good. I know there’s rice at home but sometimes its your safest bet when you’re dining out and you’re not sure about the quality of a place.

Filled up on lunch, the next thing was to kick back, listen to my fantastic playlist filling the place and just enjoy the our version of the summer time breeze.

I had no complaints about grills in and out and I definitely wouldn’t mind going back to try out other things on the menu.
