Restaurant of the Week – Spice Platter

You’re at The Thought Pyramid Art Centre checking out its awesomeness, or you’re taking classes there and you realise you’re hungry. Why not check out Spice Platter?

It is in the same compound as the art gallery and so there’s no need to leave the area in search of something to eat.

My friend had her sister’s bridal shower here and it was a nice little place to celebrate. The customer service here is amazing and the attention to detail is also not one to miss.

When I entered, without saying a word the manager knew why I was there, and told me to check out the art gallery while waiting for my friends so I wouldn’t get bored. I felt that was very thoughtful of her and that was how I got to see the art centre.

Since we didn’t eat in the main restaurant, I can’t tell you alot about their menu but I do know they serve Continental & Nigerian dishes.

Because there’s an art gallery on the grounds, it’s no surprise that their decor is really nice and you can find bits of art around. Outdoor dinning is also available, and to be honest the atmosphere is the best part of the whole thing.

Our party was held in the bar and the theme was a tea party. When I got in after my friends showed up, it had been arranged to portray just that.

Everything we had was lovely, from the mini burgers to the apple crumble. It was heavenly and I was honestly thinking of having everything to myself, but alas the other guests had to eat too.  Most importantly there was tea. Different flavors were available, so tea lovers were in heaven. So in terms of food, they get a solid 8/10 from me.

They don’t have a website, but you can drool over their food by viewing their Instagram page.

I keep saying you can’t find a better combination than art & food and I still stand by it.

If you want to use them for a party, prices are negotiable depending on the amount of people expected and how long it’ll be used for. They also hold and cater for events in the gallery itself. Imagine being surrounded by artworks & sculptures while you eat. #gallery-2824-5 { margin: auto; } #gallery-2824-5 .gallery-item { float: left; margin-top: 10px; text-align: center; width: 33%; } #gallery-2824-5 img { border: 2px solid #cfcfcf; } #gallery-2824-5 .gallery-caption { margin-left: 0; } /* see gallery_shortcode() in wp-includes/media.php */
