Restaurant of The Week – Rhapsody’s

Rhapsody’s is a bar/restaurant that has this cosmopolitan feel to it with a recurring blue theme going on. I generally like the whole bar vibe it has going on. I can appreciate the simplicity and style of the restaurant.

They have 3 branches, Ikeja City Mall, Lekki and V.I. Today’s visit was to the Ikeja branch.

My friend and I went at lunch time so it was generally quiet and nice. I hear it gets really busy in the evenings so if you’re don’t fancy eating with a crowd you should avoid going there anytime from 6pm. I especially loved that we found a quiet spot to just enjoy our lunch. It also has an outside dining area if you would prefer that to sitting inside. However if you choose to sit in the main dining area, you have to order a meal.

For lunch, we both picked from the pasta section.

  1. Spaghetti Gambaroni – grilled prawns dipped in garlic butter, olive oil, chilli flakes and parsley, tossed with spaghetti pasta.

  2. Bolognaise – Original Italian tomato & minced beef sauce served on spaghetti pasta

  3. Pink mojito

  4. Orijin on the side.

Before our main meal came, a bread roll basket was brought.

The food was fantastic and I promise this has nothing to do with the fact that I”m a big fan of pasta. It was generally better than I expected. For a split second, I had an Oliver Twist moment then I got over it.

Our waitress was also nice asides her initial hurry to get our order, she ended up being helpful and also informing of their free wi-fi service.

Another great thing was that they weren’t in a hurry to kick us out after our meal. We sat down and just talked while time went by.

Great food, great ambiance, great service, can’t complain. The pricing is tricky as somethings are actually quite pricey while others are decent. Just depends on what you get. Rhasody’s definitely gets a thumb up from me.

Have you ever been there? What did you think?

Our verdict!
