Fathers Day Activities

It’s Father’s dayyy!!!!

You know I have to start out by saying happy father’s day to my daddy (he’s also UN’s daddy too. lol). I know you’re reading this :). Happy father’s day, you’re the best and I love you.

So since it’s father’s day, I decided to put up a post on 5 things to do to celebrate the day with your dads.

*taking your father out today obviously means you’re financially responsible for the day. It’s one day in a year, you can manage.

1. Take a father/daughter (or son, as the case may be) trip to Olumo Rock.

I recently went to Olumo rock with my dad and it was a wonderful experience. We were told the history of the rock at each level, till we got all the way to the top, and saw the famous red roofs of Abeokuta along with other important sites which could be seen from there. Watch out for the post on Abeokuta and our adventures. It would be a good bonding experience. Olumo rock is in Abeokuta, Ogun State and is about an hours drive from Lagos.

2. Go look at art works at the Nimbus Art Gallery.

Nimbus Art gallery is a contemporary African art gallery with a lot of great stuff there. You can read the review here. If your dad is art inclined this would definitely be a treat, and you can both learn to paint in the process.

3. Take him to lunch at the Sheraton Lagos Hotel

There will be a special fathers celebration at Sheraton, so why not take him there and take advantage of it. It will be from 12pm to 3pm at the Crockpot Restaurant. Besides I hear the food at the crockpot is always nice so a special meal will hit the spot.

4. Go to Erin Ijesha Water Falls.

This was amazing. I can tell you for free that it is worth the trip. Even though it was 3/4 hours away from Lagos as it is in Osun State, I think it’s something everyone would enjoy like my friends and I did. Who knows, maybe you’ll get to the seventh step. As always, a post will be coming up soon on it.

5. The Jazz Hole.

To wrap the evening up, you can head to the jazz hole and have a quiet evening. Listen to some jazz or live music if you’re lucky, read a book or just have a cup of coffee. It would be a quiet nice way to end the day.

Address: 168 Awolowo Road, Ikoyi. Phone: 01-4805222
